Checked Shirts

So yesterday was St Andrews Day here in Scotland, and traditionally we are supposed to wear tartan. Usually at school people wear checked shirts on St. Andrew's day instead, this way they are still fashionable.
Checked shirts are a great way to look like you've made an effort on a lazy day. They can be worn open with another top underneath, or buttoned right to the top (Classy and smart). Sleeves on checked shirts can also be worn rolled up or long, both look cool.
New Look used to do checked shirts in almost every colour at around £10 but no longer sell these. I used to have a red one and a mustard coloured one, most kids I knew owned at least one.
Hollister checked shirts are made from a soft cotton material and are not only stylish and designer but also extremely cosy-the blue one is cute!
I doubt wearing a checked shirt will ever be classed as a bad decision, for as long as I can remember they have been 'in'.
It's not only girls that wear them, boys look really good in checked shirts, my brothers own loads of them and wear them open with tops underneath, some boys don't suit this look though. Other boys wear them buttoned right up with braces (for example Louis Tomlinson from One Direction).
Please comment below your opinions on checked shorts-do you think they look cool? How do you wear yours?
